Information About Madison Post 79 American Legion Baseball

The Madison Post 79 American Legion baseball program is a highly competitive program that offers three teams; Senior Legion (19U) and Junior Legion (17U), and Prep Legion (15U). Our teams compete in the Connecticut Zone 3 division along with Guilford, Westbrook, Wallingford, East Haddam, Middletown, Cheshire, Meriden, and Berlin. Besides playing zone games, our teams also compete against other AAU teams in non-zone games as well as play in a few local and regional tournaments. All legion games will be played with wood bats.
All of our players must reside in the town of Madison, however they can attend any high school. Since most of our players go to Hand high school, we somewhat align to the same way they approach the game. No player will ever be penalized because they do not attend Hand however.
We subscribe strongly to the principle that the program should be stressed more than the individuals who make up the program. The principle of the program first and the individual second is based on te premise that the individual, though important to the program, will move on in a short time. The program will remain for other individuals to benefit from.
Besides developing your baseball skills, our goal is to develop each player into a high character young man.
