On July 25th, Madison Travel Baseball hosted the first annual charity softball game to benefit the Yale Toy Closet.

The game featured the Madison Police Department vs. the Madison Fire Department and was played on the "Surf Turf" on a beautiful Saturday evening.

The event was well attended by both MTB players and parents, as well as supporters from the Fire & Police departments.  During the event, MTB collected toys that will support the Yale Toy Closet program, a local charity founded by Madison resident Anne Nyberg to help brighten the day for those kids who are staying at Yale New Haven Hospital.

The game itself featured a host of exciting plays and began with a lead-off home run by Travis Gulick, a MTB Coach and member of the Fire Department.  A see-saw battle ensued for 6 innings with the Police Department finally winning on a bottom of the 6th walk-off base hit.  It was great fun for all who attended and played.

Thank you to all our supporters who attended the game, and a special thanks to those that brought a toy or made a donation to the Yale Toy Closet.  We appreciate your support!
